Virtual Experimental Modern Museum – VEMM

This was collaboration in 1996 involving 3 partners: KKH (Royal University of Fine Art), KTH (Royal University of Technology) and the Mederna Museet Stockholm. The idea was to create a concept for a new digital exhibition environment for the Museum.

The platform of the VEMM is composed of two virtual environments: the Modern Museum and the VEMM-room DAVE. These both are hybrid spaces. In the Virtual Modern Museum the digitalized reproductions from the collection of the museum are shown.

A virtual tour to the MM could be done at home on the computer and might inspire to make a physical visit. The VEMM-DAVE and the virtual VEMM-space in the network in the hybrid environment where specially made digital artworks are being shown.

The VEMM-space would be a virtual building could be kilometers in hight, can be linked together with othere similar virtual spaces (via Internet) to create global projects or media-events.
